Terms of Service
Last updated: 4 August 2026 · Effective date: 4 August 2026
This supplements — does not replace — Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA), which governs the underlying app license by default unless GaelGrounds provides its own EULA in App Store Connect.
1. Who these terms are between
These Terms of Service are between you and Cormac Brannigan, trading as GaelGrounds, a sole trader established in Ireland ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using GaelGrounds, you agree to these terms.
Joining the website's waiting list does not create an account and is not governed by these Terms — see our Privacy Policy for how that works.
2. The app
GaelGrounds is a personal tracking app for Gaelic games fans: it lets you check in at grounds you attend, log the matches you've been to, and build your own attendance history. GaelGrounds is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the Gaelic Athletic Association ("GAA") in any way — it is an independent, unofficial companion app built by a fan, for fans.
We reference real county names, ground names, and competition names because they're necessary to describe the real-world places and matches you're logging — this is purely descriptive and factual use, not a claim of official status. Historical match scores shown in the app are the same kind of factual information: single final scorelines, not detailed statistics or match reports, compiled from a wide range of independently published public sources (national and local news coverage, Wikipedia, and county/provincial sports sites among others), not extracted from any one official database.
3. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms (abusive behaviour, fake check-ins, harassment of other users, etc.).
- You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account) or by emailing cormac.brannigan03@gmail.com. Deleted data is permanently removed within 30 days.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post false, defamatory, or abusive content via profiles, friend features, or the social feed
- Attempt to manipulate the leaderboard through fake check-ins or fraudulent activity
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or misuse the app or its data
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
5. GaelGrounds Premium
- Premium costs €1.99/month, billed through the App Store.
- Premium unlocks: logging matches from before 2019, no cap on matches added to your profile, adding friends, and appearing on the leaderboard.
- 14-day withdrawal right: as an EU/Irish consumer, you have the right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, under the EU Consumer Rights Directive — unless you've already started using the Premium features with your explicit consent to waive the cooling-off period (standard for digital content/services).
- Cancellation: you can cancel anytime via your Apple ID subscription settings, using the app's one-click cancel option.
- Refunds for subscriptions are handled by Apple per their refund policy, since Apple is the merchant of record.
- We may change Premium pricing or features with reasonable advance notice.
6. Content and intellectual property
- The GaelGrounds app, branding, and design are owned by us.
- You retain ownership of content you post (profile info, ground photos, notes, manually-added matches) but grant us a licence to display it within the app (e.g., on the leaderboard, to friends, on the relevant ground's photo gallery).
- County/team names, ground names, competition names, and historical scorelines are used descriptively and factually to support the app's core function (see Section 2) — this is not, and should not be read as, a claim of official endorsement by or affiliation with the GAA or any county board.
7. Match & results data
Historical fixtures, results and competition data in the app are compiled from publicly available sources. We do our best to keep this accurate, but we don't guarantee it's complete or error-free.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
- GaelGrounds is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose beyond what's described in Section 2.
- Ground information, historical match data, and statistics are provided for reference only and may contain inaccuracies — we're not liable for decisions made relying on them.
- To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot lawfully be limited (for example, liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence).
This limitation-of-liability section is a working draft, not a solicitor-reviewed clause. It's flagged in the compliance pack as worth a paid legal review once Premium is generating real, ongoing revenue — it isn't a launch blocker.
9. Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in-app before they take effect.
